USC*PACK Installation Notes

Perform the steps below to install USC*PACK on a PC running
Windows9x/NT/2000. Step [4] only applies to Windows2000. Note that some
of the USC*PACK (the programs using the Phar Lap dos memory extender)
will not work with WindowsXP.

Extract/unzip the demo1191.zip file to a directory of your choice.

Installing into C:\USCPACK is probably best. If you wish to have the
USCPACK directory within another directory, that directory must have a
name of 8 characters or less. For example, C:\Program Files\USCPACK will
not work, while C:\ANYDIR\USCPACK is a workable example.

The setup program does not update your autoexec.bat. Please consult the
USC*PACK user manual page 9 for information about modifying your
autoexec.bat file. See [4] if you are using the Windows2000 operating
system.

If your operating system is Windows2000 the two environment variables
can be set as follows:

- Right-click "My Computer" and select "Properties"
- Select the "Advanced" tab
- Click on "Environment Variables"
- Click on the upper "New"
- Type USCPACK as "Variable Name"
- Type C:\USCPACK as "Variable Value" 
  (or the location where USCPACK is installed)
- Click "OK"

Add the INTINIT variable in the same manner. The "Variable Name" is
INTINIT, and the "Variable Value" should be similar to
C:\USCPACK\INTERACT.INI (again depending on where you installed USCPACK)
